Broadcasting and Journalism
In The Field: The Zao-X can be utilized for news gathering. With its very low latency (from 35ms, to 240ms), reliability and ease of use, coupled with the fact it only weighs 500 grams, makes it the ideal accompaniment for a journalist doing live news interviews and remote reporting from the field back to the news studio.
From the Studio: The Smart Telecaster Receiver Software: STC HD View is decoding software installed at the receiving end that allows operators to view up to 4 incoming H.265 video streams. It comes as a 4-channel version. HD View is installed on a Win 7 or Win 10 platform (min 8GB RAM). If an HD-SDI output is required, then a Blackmagic card can be installed on the workstation. Ultra Low Latency
RASCOW2 (Real-time Auto Speed Control based On Waterway-model) is Soliton’s second generation codec for video optimization. It ensures fast and highly reliable adaptive encoding that is optimized on available network bandwidth, even in the most challenging of situations.
Multilink Bonding
Mobile networks from different cellular telecom carriers can be bonded into one single network connection significantly increasing bandwidth and resilience. It remove the reliance on a single network operator and with RASCOW2 can deliver superior live streaming up to 4K video formats.
H.265/HEVC
Zao-X is a highly efficient HEVC/H.265 hardware encoder and compared to a traditional H.264 codec, transmits video with almost half the bandwidth. Soliton's H.265 process is highly efficient for encoding and decoding that is a major element in the measure of super low latency video streaming.
Remote Control: Teleoperation | Driving
Zao-X enables remote control of a car, robot, drone or machinery in almost real-time from a remote location. Traditional encoders have a delay greater than 0,5 second that is too long for safe control. Zao-X can remotely control machinery, viewing a live video stream and remote operation in almost real time.

The Zao X encoder is a vital tool for live streaming to its command center, especially since threats are a growing concern in the communities. The encoder with its H.265 technology combined with the RASCOW2 protocol and AES 256 encryption can send live video feeds within 35ms. to a ONVIF compliant video management system. The encoders combined with the Zao Apps. for Android, Iphones can be used as the live streaming source back to the command center.
